Blackdog started in 2023 and is based in the DFW area, but we work with clients all across the country- from Alaska to Maine. We’re a retail interior design studio that blends function, style, and local character to create spaces that reflect your brand and connect with your community.
With over 20 years of experience in the interior design world, we know how to streamline the process…keeping things moving smoothly from concept to build-out. We tackle big projects, whether it’s new construction or a full remodel, and we collaborate closely with your architects, builders, engineers, security crews, you name it.

Melinda/Chief Everything Officer
After years as Design Director at Sungrown Studio, I launched BDRD with a fire to do things differently, blending brand-driven design with wild creativity and real-world functionality. I’m all about the little guys. The mom-and-pop shops I grew up loving in the Midwest and I bring that same heart to every project.
With over 20 years in the design world, I know how to shape spaces that not only look amazing but work beautifully behind the scenes. From merchandising and historic preservation to operations and customer flow, I love turning napkin sketches into grand openings. My sweet spot? Creating spaces that ignite curiosity, build strong brands, and keep your team proud to show up every day.
When I’m not designing, you’ll find me on the trails hiking with my dog, Scotch, or getting inspired under a wide Texas sky in the middle of nowhere.
